Charles Darnay Character Analysis

Charles Darnay is a young man of 25 years. He is born of good money and well known name (of good or bad reasoning). Charles travels back-and-forth from French to England. In the book we meet him a in a courtroom where he is being trailed for treason. Charles shows innocent, and then we get to learn a little more about him.
“.... showing the soul to be stronger than the sun” (Dickens, 46). This quote is a reason why I drew a big heart on Charles’ chest. I think that Mr. Darnay has a beautiful soul, maybe we haven't got to see it at its full potential yet but I feel we will when he speaks to Lucie. In the drawing I also gave Darnay very big eyes, I did this because I feel like he pays attention to what is going on around him and he sees people sides to things. I also gave Darnay bigger ears and a small mouth because I feel as if he listens to people more than he puts his own opinion in. The last thing that I drew on Charles was some rosy red cheeks. I drew these to symbolize his compassion towards Lucie and his love for her.
Overall I think the Darnay is a very good character in this book. I believe that he will stay loyal to his words to Manette and that he will stay loyal to Lucie. I know that we will hear much more about him in this book and I hope we learn a lot more good things about him. Even thought we don't really know Darnays actually name yet I still believe he is a trustworthy character.
